Frequently Asked Questions

GOT QUESTIONS? WE’VE GOT ANSWERS

How to Donate

How do I donate my vehicle?

It’s easy! Fill out our online donation form or call 1-877-684-4777. We’ll send you your Intent to Donate form and arrange pickup or drop-off at your convenience.

What happens after I submit the form?

We’ll contact you within 1–2 business days to confirm your details and guide you through the next steps.

Why should I donate instead of selling?

Every car donation helps fund Teen Challenge Canada recovery programs. You’ll receive a charitable tax receipt — and help someone start a new life.

I've received my Intent to Donate form, how do I sign with Docusign?

We have a video with quick and easy to follow instructions on how to sign your vehicle donation form using DocuSign. You can find it here.

What We Accept

Do you accept vehicles in any condition?

Yes, we accept vehicles in any condition provided that they have 4 wheels with tires for safe transportation of your vehicle. As well there must be no outstanding liens against the vehicle.

Can I donate something other than a car?

Yes! We accept RVs, trailers, motorcycles, boats, and many other types of vehicles. However, online donations for these types of vehicles are not available, so please give us a call at 1-877-684-4777.

My car doesn’t run — can I still donate it?

Most non-running vehicles can still be accepted. We’ll evaluate and handle the towing.

What happens to donated vehicles?

All vehicles are sold through different venues; or if the vehicle is at the end of life then they are recycled. A limited number of vehicles are used at Teen Challenge Centres. All proceeds go to fund Teen Challenge Canada Inc and the life changing programs for men and women across Canada.

Pickup & Drop-Off

What paperwork do I need?

A signed Intent to Donate form (we send to you after intent to donate submission) and your ownership document (front and back).

I lost my ownership — can I still donate?

Usually yes! Contact us and we’ll help you with replacement options.

The ownership isn’t in my name — can I still donate?

Yes! However, the ownership must be signed by the person whose name is listed on the front in order to complete the donation.

What do I do with my plates?

Remove them before pickup. In most provinces, you can reuse or return them to your licensing office.

Tax Receipts

When will I get my tax receipt?

Tax receipts are issued approximately 2 weeks after receipt of your vehicle at one of our drop off locations.

How is the value determined?

We base it on fair market value — considering make, model, year, mileage, and condition.

Can the receipt be in someone else’s name?

No. It must match the registered vehicle owner.

Is Teen Challenge Canada a registered charity?

Yes! We’re a registered non-profit organization. Your donation stays in Canada and supports real people in recovery.
